✈️The Highs and Lows of a Week of Literary Travel
Literary travel reflections, Gilmore Girls reading challenge updates, a 5-star writing book recommendation, Wuthering Heights tips, the bittersweet nature of life and loss, and more.
Hi Friday night readers!
The Gazette is a day late this week, and I apologize for that. I was traveling and unexpectedly didn’t have wi-fi this weekend, then returned home last night too sick and delirious to even think about opening my laptop and finalizing it coherently. Hopefully it’s just as good on Monday as Sunday!
👀On My Radar: Permanent Jewelry
As part of my travel this week (more on that in the behind-the-scenes section), I had the opportunity to get “permanent jewelry” at a brunch event: a gold heart bracelet welded onto my arm.
I was not enthused about this concept at first—until I saw it in person. It’s super delicate and eye-catching, and you can just cut it off whenever you want, so it's not as permanent as it sounds. It also made for a fun group activity, especially if you’re looking for a book club idea.
I’m not going to link anything, as this is a super localized service, so just look up a provider near you!

📄Posts
I shared my travel diary from visiting the home of the author of one of the most referenced books on Gilmore Girls: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. It was especially serendipitous based on this month’s reading prompt (below) and how highly referenced this title is on the show.
My two biggest takeaways are how we understand history and nostalgia. It’s quite interesting, in my humble opinion!
I also shared a massive list of books from Gilmore Girls that have film adaptations, since that’s the February prompt for our Rory Gilmore reading challenge. Our featured book of the month will be none other than Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë!
Read with us, if you aren’t already! You can easily catch up on January’s prompt to read a children’s book from Gilmore Girls.
